2010 Election Broadcast

"Hello, Geoff. I am your Member. Would you like to touch me?"

Yesterday evening I was in a bad mood when I got off the train. My mood didn't exactly improve as I was greeted by our MP and his team as I left the station. David had a big false smile on his big smug face.

Although he's a shoe-in to keep his seat, I'm relying on those of you in marginals (sound like skimpy pants, don't they?) to "do the right thing" and "vote for change".

Now where have I heard those phrases before?

  1. My parents got a letter from their MP: big letters on top TIME FOR CHANGE.

The letter starts: "As your MP for the last 18 years."

  2. But is it "change" or "real change"?

  6. In Thailand, we favour Time For Chang.

(The wv is “yodinol” which has to be the painkiller you take when you get a headache from excessive yodelling.)

  7. I could do with a bloody big Chang tonight.

  8. Geoff - the good people of Eastbourne have followed your advice and kicked out the sitting fat, ruddy faced Tory MP who actually lives in Kent. Hope this helps?

  9. Could someone please explain to me what just happened in your country?

    signed,

  10. Mr VVB - I was very pleased about that result.

MJ - We are "well-hung and shafted" according to The Sun. It just means that no party has over 50% of the seats and different parties will have to work together just like everywhere else in Europe. Hopefully for good as a party having complete control with less than 40% of the vote is a bit of a shit deal. PR for the UK!

  11. Marginals? I think you have indeed just invented some new pants. ;-)

Yes, he looks pretty sinister to me. Probably wears guinea pig skin marginals.

  13. We have an org called Fair Vote Canada which is attempting to destroy the insipid first past the post system...it's sheer idiocy to allow a redneck farmer the power of 14000 dazzling urbanites...when this kicks in there will never be another Tory elected ever.
Of course this won't happen until my parents' generation dies..then we'll all turn into crotchety old buggers and carry on their traditions.
